This year, Canada’s largest event dedicated to the fruit and vegetable industry, the CPMA’s Annual Convention & Trade Show, took place at the Palais des Congrès de Montréal from April 15th to 17th. This event combines networking, learning and business opportunities for the industry leaders while allowing participants from all segments of the produce supply chain to showcase their products.
Through this large-scale gathering, Moisson Montréal had the opportunity to collect an important quantity of fruits and vegetables, 40,000 kg to be exact! These foodstuffs represent 90% of the showcased products surplus. Not only were we able to avoid a considerable amount of food waste but, in addition, this donation will help us ensure an optimal food supply to our accredited community organizations that provide assistance to people in crisis on the Island of Montreal.
Moisson Montréal would like to thank the CPMA and GES for their donation and for their logistical support. We would also like to thank Courchesne, Larose Ltd. who provided our means of transport.
