More children on the island of Montr\u00e9al will now go to bed with full bellies thanks to a generous donation to Moisson Montr\u00e9al from The Chamandy Foundation.<\/p>\n
A family run foundation founded in 2015, it aims to give funds to organizations promoting the betterment of children\u2019s lives.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur goal really is to help children thrive,\u201d said Tiffany Chamandy, the Chamandy Foundation\u2019s newly appointed executive director.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe regularly engage in such charitable activities as the promotion of education, the protection of children, alleviation of childhood poverty and the improvement of children\u2019s physical, social and mental well-being.\u201d<\/p>\n
Moisson Montr\u00e9al \u2013 which is dependent on fluctuating revenues to fund essential daily operations \u2013 is overjoyed by the partnership.<\/p>\n
The multi-year donation will see $200,000 per year donated to Moisson Montr\u00e9al, over the course of the next three years.<\/p>\n
\u201cMoisson Montr\u00e9al is tremendously grateful to the Chamandy Foundation for this major undertaking, which will enable us to distribute over $9 million worth of food to the community,\u201d said Richard D Daneau Moisson Montr\u00e9al\u2019s executive director.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt this point in time, we assist 137,000 Montrealers, including 41,500 children, every month.\u201d<\/p>\n
According to a recent survey, Moisson Montr\u00e9al fulfills 60 per cent of its 241 organizations food demands every month.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis donation will allow us to get more food to more children and families. It really will go towards helping Montr\u00e9al children, one meal at a time,\u201d Daneau added.<\/p>\n
The regularity of such support, and of the support of other loyal partners, reduces Moisson Montr\u00e9al\u2019s fundraising costs and allows for more reliable planning.<\/p>\n
Thanks to Chamandy Foundation monetary support, Moisson Montr\u00e9al can continue its work toward ending food insecurity and for the access to a variety of healthy and nutritious foods.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
