With less than 15% of the total expected monetary donations received to date, Moisson Montr\u00e9al is concerned about the consequences on children if it does not meet its objectives.<\/i><\/h4>\n<\/div>\n

MONTREAL<\/span>,\u00a0April 15, 2014<\/span>\u2013<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>In the third and last week of\u00a0The Great Food Drive for Children<\/b>, Moisson Montr\u00e9al, Moisson Rive-Sud and le Centre de b\u00e9n\u00e9volat et Moisson Laval are far from reaching the donations they had hoped for. The goal this year is to raise non-perishable food items for babies and toddlers, as well as\u00a0$200,000<\/span>\u00a0in monetary donations by\u00a0April 21st, 2014<\/span>.<\/p>\n

“During this Easter week, 20,000 children from 0 to 5 years of age will not have enough to eat in the\u00a0Greater Montreal<\/span>area. We are calling on the population’s generosity so that together we can make a real difference in the lives of our little ones. It is important to note that only 1% of the food received at Moisson Montr\u00e9al is suitable for toddlers. It’s a very difficult situation because they are at a crucial period for both their mental and physical development. ” says\u00a0Dany Michaud<\/span>, Executive Director of Moisson Montreal.<\/p>\n

How can you help?
\n<\/b>Until\u00a0April 21st<\/span>, the public is invited to visit\u00a0<\/b>granderecolte.com<\/b><\/a>\u00a0to make a monetary donation. They can also visit one of the 104 participating Uniprix stores to deposit non-perishable food donations for toddlers.<\/b>\u00a0The money raised will be used exclusively to purchase and distribute food for toddlers with partnering community organizations who have programs specifically targeting families with young children and expectant mothers.<\/p>\n
