In July, Moisson Montreal was the beneficiary of innovative third-party activities that have helped us maintain appropriate food stocks as well as raise public awareness about the issue of hunger. These activities take place at a crucial time since the summer months mean school closures and the interruption of certain food aid programs they offer. This creates new demands for local organizations offering food aid on the territory (provisions, meals, snacks, community kitchen, etc.); demands that Moisson Montr\u00e9al must respond to.<\/p>\n
On July 24, Megan Clark and Adrian Arts, students at Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, Ontario, made a stop in Montreal as part of their cycling tour across Canada to raise awareness on food insecurity while collecting food donations for local food banks. Over 135 days, these brave activists will cycle more than 10 000 km promote the work of food banks!
