We can donate to so many causes and they are all worthy of our support. When we decide to help an organization financially, we want to know – with good reason – where our money goes. At Moisson Montr\u00e9al, we are completely transparent and every year we disclose how donations are spent.<\/p>\n

First, you should know that food donations represent 90% of the donations received while cash donations total about 10%.<\/p>\n

Food donors:<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

We are fortunate to have a dedicated, dynamic, and committed network of more than 360 food donors. In 2020-2021, we were extremely fortunate to collect more than 21 million kg of food. We distribute all types of food: fruits and vegetables, dairy and cereal products, meats, canned goods, baby products, etc.<\/p>\n

For the year 2020-2021, the equivalent of $117,6 million worth of food was distributed to those in need.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Cash donors:<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n

How are cash donations spent at Moisson Montr\u00e9al? They provide us with the necessary funds to operate our immense 11,000 m\u00b2 warehouse and pursue our mission which is to ensure an optimal food supply to community organizations serving people in need on the Island of Montreal.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/span><\/p>\n

Due to the strength of our operating model, based on food recovery rather than purchases, Moisson Montr\u00e9al benefits from an extraordinary leverage effect: every dollar donated allows us to redistribute more than $15 in food!<\/p>\n

Thus, your cash donation means that more than 300 organizations on the Island of Montreal do not have to worry about the food component. The food is given to the organizations free of charge. Imagine, we respond to more than 600,000 requests for food assistance each month through these organizations.<\/p>\n

It also means that your contribution makes a difference in a variety of causes. Because of Moisson Montr\u00e9al’s support, organizations can use their resources to develop programs in different areas that help their beneficiaries lessen their vulnerability.<\/p>\n

Giving to Moisson Montr\u00e9al means contributing to the well-being of many individuals from different organizations: the fight against homelessness at L’Accueil Bonneau, the integration of immigrant families at L’Hirondelle, the protection of women at Chez Doris and Le Cha\u00eenon, the development of children at Interaction Familles Hochelaga-Maisonneuve and many others.<\/p>\n

\u00ab We keep some of the food from Moisson Montr\u00e9al for meals and snacks for the youngsters in our daycare centre. The food is also used for our working lunches and collective cooking workshops. Moisson Montr\u00e9al’s contribution is enormous, representing more than 95% of the food that is redistributed. \u00bb <\/div>\n
