SENIOR BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT REPRESENTATIVE

Reporting to the Director of Business Development, the Senior Business Development Representative provides front-line support (visits, phone calls, emails) in order to develop relationships with donors/suppliers regarding offers of food donations. The incumbent is responsible for following up with food donors and will spend approximately 40% of his/her time on the road in the Montreal area. 

Specifically, the selected candidate will:  

  • Solicit and retain larger suppliers; 
  • Update the list of food donors, ensure follow-ups and frequency of donations; 
  • Visit new prospects, make presentations in collaboration with the Director of Business Development; 
  • Ensure general communication with suppliers and commodity donors (surveys, newsletters, solicitation reminders); 
  • Redirect and send thank-you letters;  
  • Participate in specific projects and events (e.g. SIAL, CPMA, donor recognition);  
  • Be responsible for the communication and preparation of donation receipts and/or confirmation reports; 
  • Collaborate in the development and implementation of a plan specifically related to the solicitation and development of suppliers in order to increase food donations for Moisson Montréal; 
  • Collaborate with the director of business development in the implementation of the procurement strategy;  
  • Manage specific projects related to procurement (ex: Holiday baskets, GRPE, Après la Cloche); 
  • Be responsible for the purchase of foodstuffs and certain products required for the packaging of foodstuffs for operations (boxes, bags, etc.);  
  • Keep abreast of events related to the food industry; 
  • Track numbers on a weekly basis to ensure that trends and goals are followed. 

Profile sought: 

  • College or university level training in supply management; 
  • 5 to 7 years of relevant experience; 
  • Excellent communication skills in sales and negotiations; 
  • Knowledge of the agri-food sector; 
  • Bilingualism required; 
  • Good knowledge of the Microsoft suite; Intermediate knowledge of Excel; 
  • Concerned about maintaining professional integrity; 
  • Autonomy and sense of initiative; 
  • Team player ; 
  • Ability to manage priorities and multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment using good  organizational skills; 
  • Comfortable with the hybrid model of working on the road and in the office; 
  • Possess a valid driver’s license.

  • Permanent, full-time position (35 hours per week); 
  • Annual salary range between $46,631 and $58, 289;
